  • St Mary's Lighthouse

    St Mary's Lighthouse is on the tiny St Mary's Island, just north of Whitley Bay on the coast of North East England. The small rocky tidal island is linked to the mainland by a short concrete causeway which is submerged at high tide

  • Long Sands Beach

    This wide, scenic beach features a mile-long sandy expanse & waves for surfing & swimming.

  • Cullercoat's Bay

    Cullercoats is a sandy bay enclosed by small piers, and is the perfect place to spend a family day out at the seaside. Having been awarded a Seaside Award, it is ideal for bathing as well as beach walks.

  • Tynemouth Priory and Castle

    Tynemouth Castle is located on a rocky headland, overlooking Tynemouth Pier. The moated castle-towers, gatehouse and keep are combined with the ruins of the Benedictine priory where early kings of Northumbria were buried.

  • Tynemouth Aquarium

    Aquarium with display tanks for sharks and stingrays, plus daily seal shows, monkeys and a cafe.

  • Holywell Dene

    Holywell Dene is in the South East corner of Northumberland, with a small part straddling the border into North Tyneside.

    The Dene stretches for approximately 6km between the villages of Seghill in the west, passing close to Holywell and Old Hartley, and thence to Seaton Sluice on the coast in the east.
